Private Affair by Lenel c1953

Private Affair by Lenel was launched in 1953, although trademark records who the name was in use in 1951, then reactivated in 1976.





Lenel, a perfumery and toiletry company established by Frances Rothschild in Leslie St., Dallas, Texas. 


The company was awarded the Medaille D’Or for her creative fragrances in Paris in 1979, Vienna in 1980 and Brussels in 1982.

Fragrance Composition:


So what does it smell like? It is classified as a fruity floral fragrance for women. I have a vintage perfume nip of Private Affair by Lenel from the 1950s. Although there are no published notes to be found. I am reviewing this for your pleasure.
  • Top notes: aldehydes, narcissus, lilacs, wisteria
  • Middle notes: lily of the valley, jasmine, frangipani, ylang ylang, black currant bud
  • Base notes: civet, sandalwood, benzoin, ambergris

Private Affair was reformulated, repackaged and relaunched in 1979.
