John Frederics Perfumes

John Frederics Perfumes was established in 1929 by John P. John and Frederic Hirst in Beverly Hills, CA; later in Palm Beach, Florida; formed subsidiary named 'Golden Arrow' based on the name of their best selling perfume.

The popular Golden Arrow perfume was launched in 1935. The perfume was packaged with a baudruchage seal over the mouth of the bottle and the gilded arrow stopper was attached by a cord. The perfume was still being sold in 1963 and was advertised as being housed in a new squatty bottle.

The Indianapolis Star, 1935:
"The story behind that gold arrow is the new perfume created by these enterprising men. The stopper carries out the name "Golden Arrow" and the package looks like a miner's bag of gold dust."
