Sharelle by House of Hampton c1962

Sharelle by House of Hampton: launched around 1962.

Vintage 1960s Sharelle by House of Hampton 1 Dram (1/8 oz) Collectible Mini Perfume Bottle. Cute little purse flacon. The bottle has a filigree and rhinestone detail on the front, a metallic gold ribbon wrapped around the neck, a gold plastic screw cap, and a gold foil embossed label on the back. My photos.

It is a sweet, floral, powdery oriental perfume for women with an herbal note. Smells a lot similar to vintage Shocking by Schiaparelli perfume. There are no official notes on this perfume, so I was able to test this with a little drop on my skin from my vintage mini bottle. Note: this is no longer fresh smelling as it was when it was new, it has turned. Here is what notes I detect:

  • Top notes: aldehydes, citrus notes
  • Middle notes: jasmine, rose, carnation, spices, honey, lavender
  • Base notes: myrrh, civet, sandalwood, resins, amber, musk, benzoin, oakmoss, patchouli

Discontinued, date unknown. Super hard to find, but worth it in my opinion.
