Princesse d'Albret by Jean d'Albret c1964

Princesse d'Albret by Jean d'Albret: launched in 1964.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a floral fragrance for women. Composed up of over 100 ingredients and took ten years to perfect. It starts off with a fruity aldehydic top, followed by a radiant, elegant floral heart, resting on a sensual, feminine base.

It is a creation of elegance and subtle refinement - the result of the perfect blending of its rich and rare ingredients. Jasmine from Mougins (in the South of france), blends with the finest Bulgarian roses for elegance; Iris from Florence brings a more sophisticated note; and Moss from the Tyrol and Wild Strawberry give soft youthful overtones.
  • Top notes: aldehydes, citrus oils, peach, raspberry, coconut, bergamot, pear, wild strawberry and wisteria
  • Middle notes: Mougins jasmine, lily, heliotrope, Bulgarian rose, rose centifolia, lily of the valley, orris, ylang ylang, Florentine iris
  • Base notes: Bourbon vetiver, tonka, sandalwood, amber, opoponax, patchouli, vanilla, labdanum, spices, musk, Tyrolean oakmoss, styrax essence

Bottles:

Princess d'Albret is presented in the classical, elegant crystal bottle already known by users of Jean d'Albret's two other perfumes, Ecusson and Casaque.

Fate of the Fragrance:

It was discontinued in 1977 with the closing of the company. Relaunched in 1978 under the Orlane brand (still using the Jean d'Albret name).
