- Top notes: aldehydes, bergamot, peach, plum
- Heart notes: nutmeg, cardamom, cloves, jasmine
- Base notes: green leaves, civet, tobacco, vanilla, leather, patchouli, sandalwood, oakmoss, vetiver
Stage, 1935:
"There are certain perfumes especially made for furs. (Most perfume, you know, is supposed to leave a sour odor on fur after the first fragrance is gone.) Look at — and smell ! — Lanvin's Rumeur, intended primarily for furs; it is a vivacious kind."
Bottles:
Producers admonish one to eschew hot water and to run cold water on top of bottle while tapping neck gently with a metal instrument (blunt end of knife or scissors).

Fate of the Fragrance:
Discontinued around 1971.
Rumeur was reformulated by Francis Kurkdjian and relaunched in 2006. It is quite different from the original.

- Heart notes: rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, mock orange, plum
- Base: patchouli, musk, amber
