Please understand that this website is not affiliated with any of the perfume companies written about here in any way, it is only a reference page and repository of information for collectors and those who have enjoyed the classic fragrances of days gone by.

One of the goals of this website is to show the present owners of the various perfumes and cologne brands that are featured here how much we miss the discontinued classics and hopefully, if they see that there is enough interest and demand, they will bring back these fragrances!

Please leave a comment below (for example: of why you liked the fragrance, describe the scent, time period or age you wore it, who gave it to you or what occasion, any specific memories, what it reminded you of, maybe a relative wore it, or you remembered seeing the bottle on their vanity table), who knows, perhaps someone from the company brand might see it.

Organza Indecence by Givenchy c1999

I first smelled Organza Indecence several years ago when I bought a lot of mostly empty vintage perfume bottles. There was about 2 spritzes left in the pretty bottle, just enough for me to test and test again. The most beautiful of sweet vanilla and exotic woods filled my senses. Spicy cinnamon and other heady Oriental riches made me swoon. I enjoyed the fact that this is a perfume that stays with you and leaves a wondrous sillage. I used up those last few sprays and have been looking for it ever since. Of course, on eBay one could find some bottles, but I am on a very fixed income and cannot afford the exorbitant prices that the auctions were bringing.

Organza Indecence was launched in September of 1999. It was created by Norbert Bijaoui in collaboration with Jean Claude Delville. The result was a woody oriental eau de parfum.
  • Top notes: mandarin, nutmeg, cardamom, bergamot
  • Middle notes: carnation, Ceylon cinnamon, jacaranda, rose, orris
  • Base notes: cedar, patchouli, musk, sandalwood, oakmoss, labdanum

This luscious creation was presented in a bottle designed by Serge Mansau, made up of clear and frosted glass and manufactured by Pochet et du Courval.

The Organza Indecence perfumes:
  • 100ml EDP Spray
  • 50ml EDP Spray
  • 5ml EDP Miniature

In 2000, Givenchy launched the Organza Indecence bath line. Packaged in the same sculpture inspired containers as the original fragrance.

Body products included:
  • 100ml Bath Gel Tube
  • 100ml Moisturising Cream
  • 50ml Body Cream Jar

The original OI was discontinued within a few years of its launch date, and was subsequently brought back in a reformulated form in 2007 as part of Givenchy’s Les Mythiques collection. The reformulation was due the fact that they replaced one of the natural ingredients in Indecence with a synthetic. They stated this was the result of changes in Eurpean and International Fragrance Association (IFRA) norms. The perfume is close to the original but not quite "it".

Today it is advertised as "A distinctly rich and sensual oriental fragrance, Organza Indecence fuses the warmth of cinnamon, fresh spices and vanilla with the exotic aromas of jacaranda wood, patchouli, amber and musk."

From Givenchy's website:
"Concept: Timeless sensuality. Organza Indécence reveals the universal feminine sensuality, daring, self-confident and bewitching. Givenchy's tribute to women who express their seductive power. Organza embodies the perfect femininity. Organza Indécence unveils her unique sensuality.

Fragrance: Woody Spicy. Reedition of the original fragrance / Contrasted, velvety yet untamed, the fragrance is built around Jacaranda wood, cinnamon and patchouli. Highly addictive and distinguished, Organza Indécence remains a reference of warm, timeless feminine sensuality.

  • Top: Cinnamon, Tangerine
  • Heart: Jacaranda Wood, Plum
  • Base: Amber, Patchouli

A new bottle emblematic of Givenchy's historical codes
-Luxurious and contemporary
-Rectangular sticker / slight pink sticker with transparent caps
-Only one EDP size 3.4 FL.OZ. / natural spray"

You can buy the new fragrance at Dillards and Ulta for $89 for the 3.4 oz bottle.

Personally I think that Organza Indecence and Givenchy's Pi for men smell very similar, with that heady vanilla and spice note. My husband wears Pi and he loves sweet smelling fragrances.
