Lumière by Parfums Rochas: launched in 1984. Created by Nicolas Mamounas, Yves Tanguy and Max Gavarry as an eau de parfum. Lumiere is said to have been inspired by the creator's childhood memory of flowers in a certain part of his home in Alexandria.
Saks Fifth Avenue carried the scent exclusively. The fragrance was priced at $38.50 for the 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum spray.
So what does it smell like? It was classified as a fresh-floral chypre fragrance for women. The top note is honeysuckle with heart notes of jasmine, gardenia, magnolia, tuberose and orange blossom rounded out with touches of coriander and amber.
Discontinued in 1999.
Reformulated into a eau de toilette by Michel Almairac in 2000. Being relatively similar to its forerunner, however this version is lighter and fruitier with a woody base.
