La Nuit de Paco Rabanne c1985

La Nuit de Paco Rabanne, introduced in 1985, is a creation of perfumers Rosendo Mateu and Jean Guichard from Roure.

Rosendo Mateu, a renowned perfumer, has contributed to the creation of several notable fragrances. Some of his other creations include: Ysatis by Givenchy, Boucheron pour Femme by Boucheron, Opium by Yves Saint Laurent, and Must de Cartier by Cartier. These are just a few examples of his extensive portfolio, showcasing his talent and versatility in the world of perfumery.

Jean Guichard, another esteemed perfumer, has also crafted various memorable fragrances throughout his career. Some of his other creations include: Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent, Obsession for Men by Calvin Klein, Paloma Picasso by Paloma Picasso, and Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent. These fragrances highlight Guichard's expertise and artistic flair in perfumery, contributing to a diverse range of iconic scents.

Both Rosendo Mateu and Jean Guichard collaborated on creating the iconic fragrance Fahrenheit by Dior.

Fragrance Composition:

So what does it smell like? It is classified as a rich, dry chypre fragrance for women.  "A special blend of chypre, citrus, precious spices, rare woods and leather."
  • Top notes: lemon, mandarin, artemisia, bergamot, basil
  • Middle notes: white honey, myrtle, cardamom, plum, pepper, peach, jasmine, rose
  • Base notes: civet, oakmoss, sandalwood, Virginia cedar, patchouli, leather, amber and musk

Indulge in the captivating allure of La Nuit, a fragrance that transcends mere scent, beckoning with the promise of mystery and allure. Envisioned as a rich, dry chypre for women, it is a symphony of contrasts—drawn to the light, yet seduced by the night.

At its heart lies a bewitching concoction where the delicate essence of rose intertwines with vibrant twists of citrus, while the lush succulence of peaches and plums tantalize the senses. Infused with overtones of exotic spices, it unfolds to reveal mysterious, dark lingering scents—moss-covered woods, earthy patchouli, and the supple embrace of leather, amber, and musk.

Paco Rabanne aptly dubs it the "perfume of the night," a tender, romantic ode to femininity that lingers long after the day has dawned. Its top notes of lemon, mandarin, artemisia, bergamot, and basil pave the way for an intoxicating journey, while its heart, adorned with white honey, myrtle, cardamom, plum, pepper, peach, jasmine, and rose, unveils the fragrance's depth. Finally, its base notes—civet, oakmoss, sandalwood, Virginia cedar, patchouli, leather, amber, and musk—leave an indelible imprint, ensuring a rich, warm, and sensuous embrace that endures through the night and beyond.
